Dr. Fred Hoekzema grew up in Wyoming, Michigan. After he received his Bachelor of Science degree from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, he went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 1976.

He began his practice in Allendale, Michigan over 30 years ago.  Dr. Hoekzema is a member of the American Dental Association, the Michigan Dental Association and the West Michigan Dental Association.  He has also served for an extended time on the West Michigan Peer Review Committee.

Dr. Hoekzema has been involved in volunteer endeavors to Central America through the Christian Medical and Dental Society, the Luke Society and Worldwide Christian Schools.  He is also currently a board member for Pray America, an agency that builds homes for widows and feeds orphans in Guatemala.

Dr. Hoekzema has been married for 36 years to his wife Joyce and has four children and nine grandchildren.
